CLEVELAND -- SWAT forces were called to a home on Cleveland's east side early Thursday morning after a man fired shots at police and locked himself inside of a home.

The standoff began at about 12:40 a.m. in the 6600 block of Hosmer Avenue.

A witness says the suspect later fired additional shots from the top floor of the home.

There is no word on any injuries.

The standoff started as a domestic altercation between a 27-year-old boyfriend, his girlfriend and the father of the girlfriend's child, sources tell Channel 3 News.

The girlfriend and father of the girlfriend's child both left the home before the standoff began.

It is unclear if the child was inside the home.

Channel 3 News crews are at the scene working to learn the latest information.
