Not everyone happy that Black Friday begins on Thanksgiving

CLEVELAND -- This Thanksgiving, many retail giants are opening their doors to Black Friday shoppers earlier than ever before.

The lines are already forming outside many Best Buy stores in Northeast Ohio.

The electronics retailer will open at midnight, Thursday night, just like in 2011.

Other stores, like Target, Walmart, Sears and Toys R Us are starting the shopping rush at the time many families are sitting down for a turkey dinner.

Target will open at 9 p.m. Thanksgiving, three hours earlier than last year.

Toys R Us will open at 8 p.m. Thanksgiving, one hour earlier than last year.

Walmart will begin its Black Friday sales at 8 p.m. Thanksgiving, two hours earlier than last year.

Sears, which was closed last Thanksgiving, will open this year at 8 p.m.

The earlier times mean millions of employees will have to report to work on one of the last traditional holidays in America.

Some are so frustrated, they've started petitions on Change.org, gathering hundreds of thousands of signatures of people who want to "take back Thanksgiving."

Target issued a response to the petitions, saying that earlier hours are what customers want.

In 2011, four days of Black Friday shopping brought in $52.4 billion.
