WKYC Web StaffCLEVELAND -- The first moments of a police pursuit that left two people dead on Nov. 29 were captured on surveillance video outside the Justice Center.
The camera, which is located at 205 St. Clair, shows an officer pulling a cruiser over to the side of the street. The officer then exits the vehicle, walks around the back and approaches a second person.
After briefly opening and shutting the cruiser's trunk, the vehicle believed to be driven by Timothy Russell passes by around 10:34 p.m.
The officer then rushes back into the vehicle, makes a sharp turn in the opposite direction and drives out of frame.
We're told this was the only camera in operation and relevant to the line of view at the time of the chase.
After the 22-minute chase, both Russell and his passenger, Malissa Williams, were killed when authorities fired 137 bullets in their direction.
Authorities have said the chase ensued when it was believed an occupant inside that vehicle fired a shot.
