CLEVELAND -- Wednesday's winter blast had a lot of people grunting and grumbling over the snowy white. Over at Quicken Loans Arena, there was more of the same.
Despite the steady snowfall, the Trans-Siberian-Orchestra concert went on. And a lot of people weren't too thrilled that the show wasn't cancelled or rescheduled altogether.
Early in the day, ticket holders thought there were only two options: Let the tickets go to waste or brave the winter storm to make the show.
It turns out, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra is offering alternatives to fans, making up for the unsafe weather Wednesday.
Fans with an unused Cleveland ticket have the option to exchange their tickets for the following performances:
• Detroit THIS Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 (3 p.m. and 8 p.m.)
• Columbus THIS Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 (3 p.m. and 8 p.m.)
• Or fans can wait until next year and redeem their tickets to any show on the 2013 Winter Tour, including Cleveland's 2013 shows (with a date to be determined).
To sign up and redeem the offer, email The Q at contactus@cavs.com with your name, email and a phone number and a staff member will contact you as soon as possible. Tickets to the Detroit and Columbus shows are subject to availability.
All tickets redeemed for the 2013 shows must sign up to redeem by Jan. 31 2013 and will be guaranteed a ticket in the same price level as they originally purchased.
However, most fans didn't know about this offer before the show.
For Carmine DiGiulio, tickets to the orchestra were Christmas gifts.
"My mom and dad were supposed to come but didn't want to brave the weather, I guess," said DiGiulio.
Most of the day, the freeways were covered in snow, making it difficult to see one lane from the next. There was a lot of snow and a lot of slow.
"It was like 45 mph the whole way, that was fast enough, it was pretty treacherous out there," said DiGiulio.
Those who made it downtown weren't out of the thick of it. We saw one car being pushed into a parking lot after it became stuck in the street.
"A lot of people complaining," said Christine DiGiulio, who lost out on money she spent for the show.
"I purchased tickets on Stub Hub for $270 then got flash seats also... can't get that money back and then I lost the hotel room, pretty bad," said Christine.
