Willoughby: Police pursuit ends when van hits pole

WILLOUGHBY, Ohio -- A Willoughby Police pursuit that went into Cleveland ended when the mini van they were chasing crashed into a pole early Monday morning.

The chase started before 2 a.m. when police discovered a suspicious mini van in a hotel parking lot. As officers were running license plate information, the van sped away.

Officers followed the suspect onto the highway and chased the van west on Interstate 90.

The van exited the highway at East 200th Street, but the driver soon lost control and struck a pole on the highway access road in Cleveland, near the Euclid border.

No injuries were reported, but police arrested the driver.
