CLEVELAND - Relatively clear skies allowed for a good viewing tonight of the Comet Pan-Starrs as it sails toward the sun.
Jay Reynolds, an astronomy professor at Cleveland State University, said the comet was visible right around sunset Thursday evening just above Mars in the sky.
He tells us the comet will continue to appear moving north, then disappear on the other side of the sun.
It will then reappear and grow dimmer as it moves back into deep space in the coming weeks.
The best viewing times will be right after sunset. Be sure to look low and west once the sun passes the horizon. Never look directly into the sun.
