CLEVELAND -- Three local counties are among the top five healthiest counties in Ohio, according to a new study.
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation study, just released Wednesday, ranks all counties in the state based on several benchmarks.
Factors considered include rates of childhood poverty, rates of smoking, obesity levels, access to physicians and dentists, rates of high school graduation and college, access to healthy foods and levels of physical activity.
Geauga County earned the distinction as the healthiest county in Ohio. Medina and Holmes counties were also in the top five.

Scioto County in southern Ohio ranked last.
Portage (20), Wayne (16) and Lake (17) counties also performed well in the study.
While not at the bottom of the pack, Cuyahoga County ranks 67 out of 88 counties.
Other notably poorly ranking counties in Northeast Ohio include Trumbull (71) and Mahoning (75) counties.
