William Takacs served as a tank driver with the Fifth Tank Battalion, First Armored Division from 1941 to 1944.

Thursday Congressman Jim Renacci honored his service with The American Defense Service Medal, the World War Two Victory Medal, and the American Campaign Medal, among others.
