STRONGSVILLE, Ohio -- The two sides in the Strongsville City Schools teachers' strike are set to meet with a federal mediator in Independence once more on Sunday afternoon.
The meeting is set for 2 p.m.
"The federal mediator has asked that our negotiation team be present, and it will be there," said Strongsville City School Board President David Frazee.
The announcement comes just hours ahead of a scheduled Strongsville Education Association press conference Friday at 8:30 a.m. outside the Strongsville Board of Education building.
The union and district remain about $1 million apart in negotiations, according to SEA spokesperson Tracy Linscott.
A bone of contention for the union remains the district's discovery of an additional $3.2 million in unexpected revenue.
Sunday's expected meeting with a federal mediator comes on what will be the eighth week of the strike.
