NEW FRANKLIN -- New Franklin police say a man and woman were discovered dead inside their home on a quiet street in the Portage Lakes area in what they say is a double homicide.
Police have identified the victims, as Jeff Schobert, 56, and Margaret Schobert, 59, after notifying all family members.
Jeff Schobert is a well-known civil attorney in Akron. Friends of the family tell WKYC the couple has two daughters. Neighbors say the Schoberts are friendly people, often seen walking their dogs or working in the yard.
New Franklin Police say they were called to the home around 2:20 p.m. Tuesday afternoon after construction workers discovered the bodies inside the home. No word on how they died or when they may have been killed.
Authorities believe this is an isolated incident.
New Frankin police are in charge of the investigation but asked for BCI to assist at the scene because the NFPD is a small department and doesn't have the resources.
