CANTON, Ohio -- A Canton woman is in the hospital after she suffered burns to nearly half of her body in a fire early Thursday morning.
The fire was reported around 1 a.m. on Arnold Avenue NW, just off of 12th Street NW.
Two people were in the home at the time.
A woman suffered burns to about 45 percent of her body, according to the commanding officer at the scene. She was flown to the burn unit at Akron Children's Hospital.
The other person in the home was treated by medics at the scene of the fire.
The fire started in the kitchen.
Fire crews are investigating.
