AKRON -- Private investigators and volunteers were searching for a missing Akron teenager Monday, based on new case information.
Taylor Robinson, 19, has been missing since May 4. She was last seen in the 700 block of Kipling Avenue where she was dropped off for her job as a home health aide.
Investigators say new information and reports from witnesses are being incorporated into a renewed search. Search dogs were also being used.
The search has been focused behind an Akron high-rise where an area is being investigated closely.
Using some of Taylor Robinson's clothing, Bill Whited prepared his dog, Tetrarch, for the search.
Private investigators were keyed to an area of West Akron by an anonymous tip. Searchers were hoping to bring some closure to the family.
The search went on in a heavily wooded are for several hours, and the dog did keep returning to one area.
Whited and Tetrarch went back to one spot and the dog "hit" on it again.
That's when police were called to the area. While they investigated, Taylor Robinson's mother Carmella Robinson was called.
"I hold out hope that it's not hers, I hold out hope they don't belong to her but then you think, which is sad, they belong to somebody," Carmella said.
After investigating the area, police found no trace of Taylor, leaving a family relieved, yet longing for some word on their missing daughter.
