CLEVELAND -- A car crash into a utility pole has closed St. Clair Avenue from E. 171st Street to E. 174th Street Wednesday morning on Cleveland's east side.
The female driver tells police someone cut her off, causing her to hit a pole on the north side of the street, while driving west on St. Clair Avenue before 4:45 a.m.
A utility pole was knocked over, dropping wires over and onto the roadway.
Power is out in the area. Utility crews are at the scene working to restore electricity to the neighborhood.
The female driver was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center in stable condition. The car has since been towed from the scene.
It is not clear how long the road will be closed.
Police are investigating.
