Search called off for missing Windsurfer

CLEVELAND -- The U.S. Coast Guard called off the search for a windsurfer who never returned after departing from Perkins Beach Monday.

The Coast Guard used a helicopter and a boat to try and find the surfer, but didn't have any luck.

According to the Coast Guard the man was part of a large group that was windsurfing and that he went under and was not seen again. No one else was reported missing.

The Coast Guard said the call came in just before 7 p.m.
