Cleveland: Newtown relaunches gun control debate

CLEVELAND -- Gun rights advocates and backers of more gun control are standing up for their respective viewpoints in the wake of Newtown schoolchildren shootings.

Does the country need to revisit all it's gun law? Should the ban on assault rifles be reinstated? Should there be a ban on large ammunition clips?

Should the mental health of prospective buyers be more vigorously reviewed?

President Obama promised to use his power to take actions that would make mass shootings less likely.

Gun rights advocates point out that the tragedy happened in a state -- Connecticut -- with some of the toughest gun laws.

In Ohio, the renewed debate is underway.

Tom Beres moderated discussions between Fairmount Temple Senior Rabbi Robert Nosanchuk, of the Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence, and Philip Mulivor, spokesman for the group Ohioans for Concealed Carry.
