SEVEN HILLS, Ohio -- Local gun enthusiasts are bracing for President Obama's announcement, outlining his proposals for gun control on Wednesday.
Local gun stores, like Five Star Firearms in Seven Hills, report sold out inventories, and a run on ammunition. Buyers are snatching up what they can before a possible government crack down.
But the issue of gun control isn't all black and white. Store owner Mike Dawson says he would support some of the President's proposals, such as restrictions on the sale of magazines.
"This is called a beta drum," said Dawson, as he lifted a double-barreled magazine gun clip, filled with 100 rounds of bullets. "There's no rhyme or reason for any civilian to own a 100-round drum that fits into a Glock pistol."
Other proposals that appear to have widespread local support include, closing the so-called "gun show loophole," which allows anyone to buy a gun at a trade show without a background check.
