CLEVELAND -- Police called off search efforts for the evening in the area of Shaw and Hayden avenues for additional victims.

Community members, alongside police, searched over 12 streets and roughly 50 abandoned homes Sunday for evidence of more victims that may be part of a serial killing spree.

During the search, a cadaver dog lead investigators to a lot near the area where 3 other bodies were found. Other cadaver dogs also hinted at the same area.

Three crime scene trucks and an evidence recovery team were brought in to check the lot. Evidence technicians analyzed the area for hours but nothing turned up.

Afterwards, police called off the search for the night.

They are expected to hold a press conference Monday at 11 a.m.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Tim McGinty was also at the crime scene Sunday evening.

On Sunday, Police Chief  Ralph Spotts, told neighbors and media they think one to two more bodies maybe in the East Cleveland neighborhood.

Two dozen residents are combed the area where the first three women were found.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiners Office says it may take up to several days as they work to identify the women found. The condition of the bodies are in an advanced decomposition state.

On Saturday, police located two bodies, bringing the total up to three homicides in two days.

Investigators have expanded the blocked off the area and detectives are on the scene searching abandoned homes.

East Cleveland Police say that the cases are related. All three victims are female and were found in garbage bags.

One of the women had on a leotard top. The other woman had on a green sweatshirt/jacket and a green and pink orchid tattoo on her thigh.

Police believe the women were killed within the last six to ten days.

Police added that one of the women was found 150 feet from a garage in a field covered by a bush. The other woman was thrown through a window into an abandoned home's basement.

On Friday, police say they were involved in a standoff with a suspect in the homicide of one female found in an East Cleveland garage.

The standoff was at Chickasaw Avenue and East 197th Street near the City of Euclid border around 4:30 p.m.

A police negotiator was seen on a bullhorn kept asking a man named "Michael" to come out of a home on Chickasaw Avenue.

Police arrested Michael Madison, 35.

Earlier Friday, East Cleveland detectives found a decomposing body inside a garage on Shaw and Hayden avenues.

Police used warrants to search the garage and the apartment across the alley, both of which are rented by Madison.

A car which he had access to was also towed from the scene.

A bystander at Sunday's search scene who knew Michael Madison says he knew him as Ivan Carter. Police haven't confirmed whether or not Madison has any known aliases.

The same bystander also says it seems as if Madison always "had something on his mind," but appeared to still be a normal guy.

The FBI, BCI and Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office is also assisting East Cleveland Police with the investigation.

It's possible that Madison may face criminal charges as early as Monday morning.
